Nashua Mayor Donnalee Lozeau expressed her commitment to helping Nashua families raise safe, healthy and drug-free children through a Mayoral Proclamation highlighting Red Ribbon Week, this year October 23rd to October 31st. The Mayor indicated that when parents talk with their children about NOT using drugs, the children are 42% less likely to use drugs. Further, 70% of children who abuse prescription drugs get them from family and friends. The Mayor went on to encourage residents to participate in Nashua Prevention Coalition’s Lock It Up Campaign.
Residents are invited to anonymously drop off any unneeded prescription medication in the new Prescription Drop Box located in the lobby of Nashua Police Department.
In preparation for Red Ribbon Week, coalition members were allowed to decorate storefront windows with the 2014 Love Yourself Be Drug Free theme posters. (see photo)
